What is it like to be backstage at a major fashion show, making up the models that will appear on the catwalks, magazines and websites around the world? * make-up artist, Leiane Taylor about her experience at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week, 2001’.
‘Working at a show is very different to doing make up for magazine shoots. You have to compromise somewhat on a show because of the rush to get the models ready.'
'There is no time for perfecting things and chances are things will change at the last minute anyway. There is less need for the same attention to detail anyway because a fashion show is about movement and energy and there is no close up still shots.'

AN INTERVIEW WITH HOME AND AWAY STAR: KATE. (Jade)
ME: What is your daily beauty routine?
K: Tone, cleanse and moisturise, morning and night. It’s important to look after your skin, especially if you wear make-up.

ME: How does your work impact on your beauty routine?
K: Works well, because the make-up department provides me with great products to use on my face after I have finished on set. We all have our own cleansers, toners and moisturisers as we have to maintain healthy skin.

ME: What is the best thing about being part of the Home and Away cast?
K: The people I get to meet and working with a great cast.

ME: What can we expect of your H&A character this season?
K: A lot of changes for Jade. She grows up a little but still remains sweet and innocent. And then there is Nick (Chris Egan), but I can't reveal too much!

ME: What do you do for fun?
K: Hang out with my friends. I love going to the movies.

The cool Caboodles range

ME: As an actress, and very experienced at having been made up, what is the most important beauty tip?
K: Always look after your skin. Drink plenty of water to re-hydrate and flush the system (your skin will look healthier this way).

JOSH HARTNETT IN THE RAW!
Born: July 21, 1978 – San Francisco

Facts: Josh started acting at a very young age, getting involved in local theatre and TV commercials, and trained in New York after finishing high school in 1996. His role in the controversial US program Cracker made a huge impression, and he has gone on to star in massive movies such as Halloween H2O, The Virgin Suicides and Pearl Harbor.

Former day job: Shop assistant in a video store

Personal hero: Anthony Hopkins

Fitness freak? Josh had to go to boot camp for five days in order to buff up for his role in Pearl Harbor. 'We had to get up at 4.30 every morning and our wake-up call was a paper grenade, which was dropped outside our tin barracks! I did so many push-ups and sit-ups that I could barely stand up anymore! I worked out so hard that I was shaking. I had to keep going until I thought I was going to die!'

Hobbies: Josh collects hats, loves snowboarding and likes nothing better than to jam with his family – his siblings all play instruments.

Josh on girls: Josh has a thing for foreign girls! He loves their different accents and lifestyles. He finds English girls 'difficult' and French girls 'irresistible'… so what about us, huh?

'Australian girls are merciless, they just throw themselves on you!' Hmmm

EVOLUTION, THE MOVIE.

Cast: David Duchovny, Julianne Moore, Orlando Jones, Seann William Scott

What We Say: You’ve seen this a hundred times before – aliens arrive from outer space in a small American town and it is up to a team of scientists as well as some hair-brained locals to save the planet from certain destruction. The laughs aren’t great, the special effects are a little rough and the cast don’t have a great deal to work with, but you do see Duchovny’s butt and Seann William Scott is cute in a goofy kinda way!

Our Verdict: Silly but fun

Rating: 3/5

Q. Is there a certain time in the sleep cycle when people dream?
A. Yes. People dream during REM sleep, which occurs about every 90 minutes throughout the night, for progressively longer periods. For example, we may only dream 5 or 10 minutes in our first REM period, but by morning we all dream for about 30-40 minutes—right before we wake up!
